Creatively Hamish
Studio Immersion
Learning that starts with creating. Professional development for teachers, and studio immersions at The Inspire Space SG.

Studio Immersion for Schools
Hamish brings professional artist-led studio experiences directly to your students. Every session is inquiry-based, process-focused, and designed so that every child regardless of age or ability makes something genuinely their own. Students don't copy templates. They make original work that reflects their own imagination, voice, and story.
The Sessions
Sessions run for groups from 20 to 100 students, with programmes tailored for ages 2 to 18. Each child goes home with completed art pieces and process creations, and every session comes with clearly articulated learning outcomes mapped to curriculum and reporting needs.

Puppetry
From shadow puppets and light play for the youngest learners, to marionettes, sock puppets, and giant stick puppets for older students, this programme brings stories to life through making and movement. Every level is designed for the developmental stage of your class, and every child performs with something they made themselves.

Fairytales
Inspired by the stories students already love, this programme invites children to respond to classic fairy tales through collage and paper construction. Students build pop-up scenes, paper characters, and layered artworks that reflect their own reading of the story. Differentiated across year levels and abilities.

Robots & Space
A process-driven programme that takes students from initial sketch through to finished mixed media sculpture. Drawing, construction, and surface techniques combine in a programme that makes the art making process itself visible and exciting. Students design, build, and complete an original artwork they can genuinely be proud of.

Wizards & Creatures
One of the most popular sessions across all age groups. Students create magical creatures, wands, hats, potions, and jewellery through clay modelling, light experiments, and mixed media making. Highly adaptable, deeply engaging, and accessible to every learner from preschool through upper primary.

The World we Live in
A session rooted in the rich artistic traditions of our region. Students explore pattern, design, and storytelling through weaving, printmaking, and batik-inspired techniques, engaging the histories and cultures of Southeast Asia in a way that feels genuine rather than tokenistic. Customised for each age level.

Professional Development for Educators
These sessions are designed for teachers who want more than a typical PD day. Step out of the classroom, into the studio, and into an experience that is as restorative as it is practical. You will leave with real skills, adaptable activities, and a renewed sense of what creative learning can look like.
This is not art jamming. Every session is purposefully designed with mindfulness, restoration and team connection at its core. I believe the best professional development does not just fill your toolkit. It refills you.

Workshop Sessions
Each workshop begins with storytelling and context, moves through hands-on studio practice, and closes with child development theory you can take straight back into school. In between, there is space to breathe, to play, and to be a learner again. Sessions are designed for classroom teachers, not just specialist art educators. The skills are transferable, the activities are immediately usable, and the experience is genuinely good for you.

It Starts with a Line
Think of this as Art 101 for teachers. We explore at least six different mark making
techniques and media, covering the foundations of drawing in a way that is practical, accessible and immediately adaptable. If you want to teach drawing with confidence, this is where to begin

Steam Punk
A dynamic sculpture workshop built around the relationship between structural form and surface finish. Participants design and build metallic-looking sculptures from recycled materials, working through a real design and planning process. The result is a transferable foundation for teaching construction and sculpture with real depth.

Out of the Box
Start with a pile of cardboard boxes. Build a world. This high-energy, collaborative session sees participants construct mazes, cities, oceans and jungles while negotiating, problem-solving and co creating together. It is as useful for team-building as it is for understanding what rich, child-led construction play can look like at its best.

Communication Through Paint
An essential session for any teacher who reaches for the paint. We go beyond technique into the deeper question of how paint can be used to express, communicate and make meaning. Participants leave with practical strategies and rich discussion points for embedding paint across an inquiry curriculum.

Printmaking Basics
A rich, experience-based introduction to printmaking across multiple methods including mono print, foam print, vegetable print and block printing. We connect each technique to the Elements and Principles of Art and build genuine cross-curricular links that make printmaking feel like a natural fit in any classroom.
