      Creatively Hamish

      • Speaking and leadership

Most of us have moments when we suspect the faith is bigger than the version we have been living in. Bigger in its vision of who God is. Bigger in its understanding of who belongs. Bigger in what it believes we are capable of.

Hamish has spent thirty years finding out how much bigger it actually is and helping others find the same thing.

        Growing in Capacity

For churches holding space for honest questions: navigating deconstruction and reconstruction, where people are asking hard things and need a voice that takes both the questions and the tradition seriously.

        Growing in Diversity

For communities growing in diversity: culturally, ethnically, theologically, and looking for tools and frameworks that help that diversity become genuine community rather than just coexistence.

        Growing Beyond just Belief

For churches ready to move beyond what they believe into how they live it, where the gap between theology and practice has become the real pastoral challenge.

        Who Is Hamish?

Hamish leads Inspire Church Singapore alongside his wife, Haidee; a community built deliberately for people who don’t fit neatly into categories: the questioning, the deconstructing, the spiritually curious, those who have loved the tradition their whole lives and want to go deeper into it, and the deeply committed, all in the same room.
He holds a Masters of Global Leadership from Fuller Seminary, with a focus on organisational dynamics and the theology of culture. He is also a working visual artist with over thirty years of practice, and brings that same instinct for looking beneath the surface into everything he does as a pastor and speaker.
His theology can be best described as a careful return to what the earliest followers of Jesus actually believed before empire, institution, and two millennia of tradition layered over it. The result is a faith that turns out to be older, kinder, and far more generous than most people realised.
      • WHAT HAMISH SPEAKS ABOUT

        Love Without Agenda

Before we are called to do anything, we are first called to love. Not as a transaction. Not as a strategy. Not as a tool for growth or outcomes. Just love: present, unconditional, and free of agenda. This is the heartbeat behind everything Hamish does as a pastor, and the subject he returns to most often from the pulpit. These talks and themes help engage the heart behind what we do and are refreshing, funny and have a depth that puts the character of God back into focus.

        Navigating Beliefs

The Christian faith is more interesting, more layered, and more honest than most people have been shown. These talks open up the tools of biblical literacy: original language, historical context, literary structure, the history of interpretation, in ways that make the scripture come alive. For communities where people wanting to go deeper than the surface and ask tough questions that don't always have easy answers.

        Art and belief

Hamish has been making things professionally for over thirty years: murals, sculptures, illustrations, installations. These talks explore where art and creativity sit within the layers of the human experience and the structures of church and community. Art is so much more than aesthetics, or a way to represent christian themes and characters. Hamish is passionate about empowering communities to engage the creative to give expression and voice to that which cannot always be spoken, or described in simple terms.
